  Easy Way to Clean your Oven For an easy and really cheap way to clean your oven without harmful chemicals, fill an old aluminum pie pan half full of ammonia. Place the pie pan on the bottom shelf of your oven overnight, be certain the oven is OFF. Allow the pan to sit overnight, uncovered, in your oven. In the morning, remove the pie pan and discard the ammonia. Wipe down the oven with a sponge which has been dampened with warm water. Do this once a week for a month, and your oven will sparkle, then only once a month for maintenance. No messy foams, no harsh chemicals, and no added expense beyond a cheap bottle of ammonia and a used pie plate.
