| During the overall process of building your new home, there is probably no more important decision than that of selecting your building lot.
The features I consider are those that are naturally occurring on your lot, be it the type of trees, that lay of the land or other interesting aspects of your lot. Incorporating these features in with the location of your house is a key element in determining how your new home will relate to both the visual and functional needs of your family. Some of the design of your home will be guided with consideration of the natural features present on your home site. Such examples would be to locate the driveway between trees of interest, incorporate natural rock outcroppings in the landscape, or construction of decks or porches that blend with the surroundings.
Sculpturing your lot in conjunction with nature is an ongoing process during construction and takes a little more effort. To remove all the trees, obstacles and level the lot would make the construction move faster, but the end result would lack any points of interest and I feel would not produce a desirable product.
Working with you, we can create a home that compliments its surroundings, meets the practical needs of your family and provide you with an asset that grows in value every year. |
